Paranormal Epiphany

Sunday, October 2nd, 2011

Last night it was late and dark in the apartment and I believe I had an epiphany. When I was in the old house late at night when my room mate was asleep seemed to be the only time that I ever got really scared and had run up and down my spine. In the old house it had more rooms and more places something could jump out unexpectedly where as here in my apartment it only has 3 rooms so its less likely for something to jump out. With the house we lived downstairs so there was an upstairs with a set of stairs and our back door and here we only have the one door so someone or something coming in is easier for me to see. When it comes to most of what I have read, pictures I have seen or videos I have seen come with a similar theme. A single person experiences something that could be labeled as and the other members of the group seem to just miss it or feel an “after” affect. As I have said in the past I have spent many years doing all I can to experience something truly including going to multiple “” in my area late at night with nothing more than a friend and a lighter calling for something taunting it even with no results. Any belief I may have had is seriously starting to dwindle leaving me with the understanding that there really is no such thing as and it’s nothing more than our unconscious minds misinterpreting things happening to or around us.

I challenge anyone to prove this wrong and put up something tangible in the way of evidence to substantiate a claim you have. If the event really happened then someone somewhere must have some form of rock solid evidence by now as there are so many doubters out there. In this advanced technological age how can there be no rock solid irrefutable evidence to prove there is actual . There are many things out there that make you think twice but that is only human nature when presented with an alternative explanation for something that seems feasible most people will stop and take a second look at both to rethink which one carries the most weight.

Here is one example I just randomly searched for on YouTube, I will offer my own take of this video. The video can be seen by clicking here or searching haunted doll on YouTube. Before watching this video the music is a little as it is a violin playing and it certainly adds to the factor. If you watch very closely you can see the slight or small movements of the dolls hands and or arms. The first thing to be said is that the only thing visible in this video is the doll itself there is nothing else in the view of the camera which is extremely odd. Why is it sitting in a completely dark place with no other color or any sort or object for that matter around it. Why is this only happening in the dead of night or in a power outage? If you look very very closely at the dolls right shoulder there is a patch missing if you will where someone in all black could easily be manipulating the dolls arms in the way we see in the video. My interpretation of this could be wrong but it seems that most seem to happen at night when it is extremely difficult to get a good picture or clearly catch what is going on. Do not there in the daylight? Do they only come to us when we can barely see them?

Another example for you is this one of an apparently haunted picture. You can view this picture for yourself by going clicking here to go to YouTube to watch the video. Now at first glance this picture does seem odd or out of place but most of that can be attributed to the age of the picture and style back in that time. When you watch the portion of the video that shows the eye movement look at how the only 2 things that appear to be shiny are the two things (the eyes) that move. Does this is not seem to be a little strange to anyone else? Although this one looks really good and had a history of haunting experiences tied to it one cant help but think they are all made up just for the publicity. If nothing else this video does little to add any credibility to the “haunted painting.”

These are two examples that I decided to look up while I was writing this post however they fit in very well with the tone of the post itself. I encourage anyone who reads this to let me know their take on the two videos I talked about in this post, I am curious to see if you think it’s real or fake and why. I look forward to reading your comments.

Annoying Spam Comments.

Monday, September 26th, 2011

When I started this website nearly 2 years ago now, I did not create it to become a spam magnet, however this is what it had come to. When I created this website I wanted to create a place where people could come together and discuss the , add their own story or their own interpretation. I want people to come to this website and share their story and I say story because there could just as easily be an explanation that could not be seen with 1 set of eyes. It is very difficult to change someones interpretation of a particular event especially when it them or touches them.

I personally had an experience that may or may not be paranormal, however because of the amount of time that has passed before I questioned the event I am not longer in a position to validate this event. I would have liked to learn if there was someone who was playing a trick on me or just trying to me, or if perhaps it was something paranormal. I encourage people to read it in my blog which is titled “my first brush with the unexplained“.

There are many different events that could possibly be paranormal but no one should be so quick as to label it paranormal without first taking a step back and looking at the whole picture. There are many groups and individuals out there who are looking for nothing more than to make people feel silly or stupid by creating fake events and some fake evidence to back it up. There are so many fake out there that I urge you to read and think outside of the box before you get sucked into something more than you want.

The Babysitter Stalked.

Sunday, June 5th, 2011

Perhaps one of the more terrifying and surreal around is the what I have dubbed the stalked. It is an with little truth but the story will chill you to the bone none the less.

This urban legend start off with a family with a child that is of a young age usually between 8 and 12 where they are young but not too young and not old enough to be awake when the parents get home. The baby sitter will put the child to bed wishing them sweet dreams and tucking them in before turning off the light closing the door halfway. The baby sitter will then go downstairs to the living room and being a female who is most likely in either close to finishing elementary school or just started high school, so she would be doing homework while sitting on the couch. After being consumed in her homework she would hear the phone ring and thinking its just the parents checking in she answers the phone and hears a voice on the other end. The voice on the other end would say things like I am upstairs with the boy or girl and were just waiting for you to come join us to entice the babysitter to check on the child. The babysitter is not phased by this and assumes it is just a crank call or someone trying to her and tells the caller to never call her again and hangs up the phone and goes back to her homework with little thought. She gets lost in her homework again only to be disturbed by the phone ringing again. After answering the phone she once again hears the voice and this time she begins to get scared as she listens to the man make the same claims as before but one more time tells him to never call her again and slams the phone down. Feeling a chill from the phone call she just had she decides she needs to pick up the phone and calls the police and explains to the officer on the other end of the two calls she just received and the officer informs the baby sitter that they will send over a car to check things out. After the police officer hangs up he puts a trace on the babysitters phone to figure out where the chilling phone calls are coming from. While waiting for the police officer to arrive she decides to try and get some more homework done but is interrupted once again by another horrifying phone call from the man and just like the previous two times, but with more aggression and much more assertive, tells the man never to call again and once again slams the phone down. Before she has a chance to decide what to do next the phone rings one last time but her patience has run out and answers the phone but screaming at who ever is on the other line but is interrupted by the voice of a police officer who informs her that the phone calls are coming from another line inside the house and she needs to get herself out of the house until the police arrive. Fighting to make the decision of getting her self out or getting the child and then getting outside her decision making process is interrupted by a loud knocking at the door. She runs to the door opens it quickly to see two uniformed police officers which she informs that the little boy is sleeping upstairs. One of the officers makes his way to the child while the other clears the rest of the house. The officer who went to check on the little boy was surprised to find an invader in the boys room wearing all black and quickly apprehends the intruder. The little boy is tied to the bed and gagged but the ordeal is not over just yet. As the intruder is being lead out of the little boys room by the police he says to the baby sitter “call you later baby.” With no real injuries other than the scar that will be left by the whole ordeal everyone is safe but this urban legend could have ended much worse.

Bloody Mary A Timeless Urban Legend

Saturday, June 4th, 2011

The of is a rather simple and straightforward urban legend with many different versions that have surfaced over the years. The most common is to go into a bathroom close the door and turn off the lights and light a single candle. While looking into the mirror you chant “I believe in Blood Mary” 3 times and will appear to you and do one of the following things:

- Scratch your entire body.

- Gouge your eyes out and leave you to die.

- Grab you and bring you into the mirror to live with her for eternity.

- Show herself in the mirror.

- Be driven insane or scared to death from the sight of her.

As I see it this is one of the most talked about and  common of any urban legend of all time. As it is one of the older over the years there have been many different versions and some confusion of its origination. From what I have read there are 3 different women in history that all get twisted together when this urban legend is told. (Queen Mary I)and are two names and their parts in history, one being the Queen of England and the other a witch burned at the stake during the .

Queen Mary I who reigned during the has been mistaken as “Bloody Mary.” It is easy to understand the mistaken identity because Mary Tudor was a rather gruesome ruler burning and executing people for heresy to the point that the streets reeked from the burnt corpses and decaying bodies. A different version of the legend talks of a baby, such as “Bloody Mary I stole your baby”. Mary Tudor suffered from multiple phantom pregnancies with no record of ever giving birth leading to the conclusion of her infertility. This legend states that Bloody Mary had a child, so Mary Tudor is not the women that this urban legend is based on, however, there are many similarities to the woman I believe it to be based on.

Mary Worth who was a witch that dabbled in the black arts and was later burned at the stake for crimes of is the most likely origin of the urban legend of “Blood Mary.” It is believed that Mary Worth did not have any children but this does not rule her out as the origin of this urban legend. It may not have been proven but local children started to go missing and the townsfolk searched but found no clue to their whereabouts. Mary was later tried as a witch, found guilty and sentenced to burn at the stake. Before she died, as the flames devoured her flesh, she curse the town and it’s people.  The curse was one of revenge to anyone who dared say they believe in her 3 times.

I am unable to find any evidence to back up this next possible origin but I remember reading this story and it stands out of a very close runner up to the real origin of this urban legend. I do not have any names but it happened a few hundred years ago, back in the era of witch hunts and trials. A commoner had an affair with the mayor of her town but when the woman began to show all the signs of being pregnant the mayor ignored her and even shunned her. Until the day of the child’s birth he denied her and the child. The resemblance between the mayor and the little girl was undeniable. To save face the mayor made the decision to force the little girl and her mother out of the town. The town’s people in an unforgivable act of cruelty chased her out of town with rocks and whips. This wasn’t enough for the mayor as he ordered her killed and in a depraved twist had her watch her own death in a mirror. With her last breathe she cursed the town and all its town folk saying she would have her revenge if anyone dared to say her name 3 times while looking into a mirror. This story appears to have the most possibility of being the real origin of this urban legend however with no facts to back it up its hard to say if it could have happened or if it is just a well written short story.

The last possible mix up is with Elizabeth Bathory who was a real person who did a lot of truly horrifying and sadistic things including bathing in the blood of virgins but her name is not Mary but the bloody part could make sense but I do not believe there is any link between Elizabeth Bathory and the Bloody Mary urban legend.

Scared by the Paranormal

Thursday, October 7th, 2010

A few years back I was staying the night at a friends house while his older sister was having a few friends over for a little party. While me and my buddy were playing a few games on his xbox his sisters friends were out in the living room drinking and seemed to be having quite a fun time. We had decided that we might have more fun if we went out and joined them, not to drink of course since we were too young, but to at least hang out with them. I’m not quite sure how it happened but the mood turned into a dark one and before long we were telling . I have always been one to like to stir the pot and I had heard of a few local that I was sure to put a into them. So I cleared my throat and did my best to make it sound as real and scary as I possibly could but it didn’t seem as though anyone was buying it, or so I thought.

It had started off innocent enough but quickly turned into a night none of us would ever forget. One of the girls had a little to much to drink and wasn’t feeling all that great so she ducked away from the party and went downstairs and climbed into bed to get some sleep hoping when she woke up she wouldn’t have a hangover. No one else was tired and we all knew not to try and play a joke on her while she slept as we would end up regretting it in the morning when she woke up. So while she slept we sat upstairs and talked but after no more than half an hour we were a little worried about Amanda sleeping downstairs so one of the other girls went downstairs to check on her make sure she had a sick bucket and some water just in case. Halfway down the stairs we all heard a bone chilling coming from downstairs. We all jumped up and raced downstairs to see what was going on and why someone was screaming with such . We were all standing around Amanda who was crying and extremely confused as to what happened. Since I was the last one to get downstairs I had no idea what was going on. My buddy turned to me and said ‘From what I can tell she bolted upright in bed and screamed at the top of her lungs and then fell back down in bed and doesn’t remember any of this happening and wasn’t awake when it happened.’

Now its been quite a few years since this happened and some of the details are a little bit fuzzy but no one knows how it all happened everyone just swears that what I just told you is true. It is by far one of the most and eerie thing to ever happen to me and without a doubt I will remember it for the rest of my life.
