Paranormal Epiphany

Sunday, October 2nd, 2011

Last night it was late and dark in the apartment and I believe I had an epiphany. When I was in the old house late at night when my room mate was asleep seemed to be the only time that I ever got really scared and had run up and down my spine. In the old house it had more rooms and more places something could jump out unexpectedly where as here in my apartment it only has 3 rooms so its less likely for something to jump out. With the house we lived downstairs so there was an upstairs with a set of stairs and our back door and here we only have the one door so someone or something coming in is easier for me to see. When it comes to most of what I have read, pictures I have seen or videos I have seen come with a similar theme. A single person experiences something that could be labeled as and the other members of the group seem to just miss it or feel an “after” affect. As I have said in the past I have spent many years doing all I can to experience something truly including going to multiple “” in my area late at night with nothing more than a friend and a lighter calling for something paranormal taunting it even with no results. Any belief I may have had is seriously starting to dwindle leaving me with the understanding that there really is no such thing as paranormal and it’s nothing more than our unconscious minds misinterpreting things happening to or around us.

I challenge anyone to prove this wrong and put up something tangible in the way of evidence to substantiate a claim you have. If the event really happened then someone somewhere must have some form of rock solid evidence by now as there are so many doubters out there. In this advanced technological age how can there be no rock solid irrefutable evidence to prove there is actual . There are many things out there that make you think twice but that is only human nature when presented with an alternative explanation for something that seems feasible most people will stop and take a second look at both to rethink which one carries the most weight.

Here is one example I just randomly searched for on YouTube, I will offer my own take of this video. The video can be seen by clicking here or searching haunted doll on YouTube. Before watching this video the music is a little as it is a violin playing and it certainly adds to the factor. If you watch very closely you can see the slight or small movements of the dolls hands and or arms. The first thing to be said is that the only thing visible in this video is the doll itself there is nothing else in the view of the camera which is extremely odd. Why is it sitting in a completely dark place with no other color or any sort or object for that matter around it. Why is this only happening in the dead of night or in a power outage? If you look very very closely at the dolls right shoulder there is a patch missing if you will where someone in all black could easily be manipulating the dolls arms in the way we see in the video. My interpretation of this could be wrong but it seems that most seem to happen at night when it is extremely difficult to get a good picture or clearly catch what is going on. Do not there in the daylight? Do they only come to us when we can barely see them?

Another example for you is this one of an apparently haunted picture. You can view this picture for yourself by going clicking here to go to YouTube to watch the video. Now at first glance this picture does seem odd or out of place but most of that can be attributed to the age of the picture and style back in that time. When you watch the portion of the video that shows the eye movement look at how the only 2 things that appear to be shiny are the two things (the eyes) that move. Does this is not seem to be a little strange to anyone else? Although this one looks really good and had a history of haunting experiences tied to it one cant help but think they are all made up just for the publicity. If nothing else this video does little to add any credibility to the “haunted painting.”

These are two examples that I decided to look up while I was writing this post however they fit in very well with the tone of the post itself. I encourage anyone who reads this to let me know their take on the two videos I talked about in this post, I am curious to see if you think it’s real or fake and why. I look forward to reading your comments.

Urban Legends and The Paranormal

Saturday, June 18th, 2011

Over the past few years I have spent a lot of time reading up on stories, phenomenon, mysteries and and I am left with questions. There are a good deal of well written stories that make you really think if it could be true or a hoax, however, there are even more that are obviously a hoax, just written for fun and nothing else. After all my reading and research I find that most stories offer little evidence or have nothing to substantiate the story or claim which is hard to believe if you have your recording the event you should be able to get something that will silence any non believer. Some for example are so old that they have been retold so many times that it comes to the point when where it originated is forgotten and parts of the legend have been taken from different points in history. The best example of this is . This is a timeless that some versions of the legend talk of the Queen of England, a witch from the time of the Salem and a poor woman who lost her child during a great war. Each of these versions have valid information that points to  actual people in history that help validate the story but with any tale that is old they almost always become and get more and more exuberant with each telling. Obviously this urban legend is used as a fun sleep over bit of fun and those who have tried this know there is nothing to this story and its all in good fun.

The story of may sound like something straight out of a fictional but it’s a real story that actually happened. Most people would say she was a vile and ruthless woman and the would definitely be right a quick search of Elizabeth Bathory you can read about her atrocities. I must warn you some of what you will read my disturb you as it was very horrific even for that time. In today’s time I would be hard pressed to believe that something like what she did could possibly happen.

Urban legends and to me are nothing more than tall tales and there is always a logical and rational explanation for what happened even if you are unable to see it at the time the events took place. There are people out there who are naturally more likely to believe in something paranormal and those who are the opposite which ever you may be remember to look at everything with an open mind and easy going attitude, you may see more than you bargained for.

Bloody Mary A Timeless Urban Legend

Saturday, June 4th, 2011

The of is a rather simple and straightforward urban legend with many different versions that have surfaced over the years. The most common is to go into a bathroom close the door and turn off the lights and light a single candle. While looking into the mirror you chant “I believe in Blood Mary” 3 times and will appear to you and do one of the following things:

- Scratch your entire body.

- Gouge your eyes out and leave you to die.

- Grab you and bring you into the mirror to live with her for eternity.

- Show herself in the mirror.

- Be driven insane or scared to death from the sight of her.

As I see it this is one of the most talked about and  common of any urban legend of all time. As it is one of the older over the years there have been many different versions and some confusion of its origination. From what I have read there are 3 different women in history that all get twisted together when this urban legend is told. (Queen Mary I)and are two names and their parts in history, one being the Queen of England and the other a witch burned at the stake during the .

Queen Mary I who reigned during the has been mistaken as “Bloody Mary.” It is easy to understand the mistaken identity because Mary Tudor was a rather gruesome ruler burning and executing people for heresy to the point that the streets reeked from the burnt corpses and decaying bodies. A different version of the legend talks of a baby, such as “Bloody Mary I stole your baby”. Mary Tudor suffered from multiple phantom pregnancies with no record of ever giving birth leading to the conclusion of her infertility. This legend states that Bloody Mary had a child, so Mary Tudor is not the women that this urban legend is based on, however, there are many similarities to the woman I believe it to be based on.

Mary Worth who was a witch that dabbled in the black arts and was later burned at the stake for crimes of is the most likely origin of the urban legend of “Blood Mary.” It is believed that Mary Worth did not have any children but this does not rule her out as the origin of this urban legend. It may not have been proven but local children started to go missing and the townsfolk searched but found no clue to their whereabouts. Mary was later tried as a witch, found guilty and sentenced to burn at the stake. Before she died, as the flames devoured her flesh, she curse the town and it’s people.  The curse was one of revenge to anyone who dared say they believe in her 3 times.

I am unable to find any evidence to back up this next possible origin but I remember reading this story and it stands out of a very close runner up to the real origin of this urban legend. I do not have any names but it happened a few hundred years ago, back in the era of witch hunts and trials. A commoner had an affair with the mayor of her town but when the woman began to show all the signs of being pregnant the mayor ignored her and even shunned her. Until the day of the child’s birth he denied her and the child. The resemblance between the mayor and the little girl was undeniable. To save face the mayor made the decision to force the little girl and her mother out of the town. The town’s people in an unforgivable act of cruelty chased her out of town with rocks and whips. This wasn’t enough for the mayor as he ordered her killed and in a depraved twist had her watch her own death in a mirror. With her last breathe she cursed the town and all its town folk saying she would have her revenge if anyone dared to say her name 3 times while looking into a mirror. This story appears to have the most possibility of being the real origin of this urban legend however with no facts to back it up its hard to say if it could have happened or if it is just a well written short story.

The last possible mix up is with who was a real person who did a lot of truly horrifying and sadistic things including bathing in the blood of virgins but her name is not Mary but the bloody part could make sense but I do not believe there is any link between and the Bloody Mary urban legend.

Japanese urban legend Kuchisake-onna

Wednesday, June 1st, 2011

I have a huge interest in especially ones that are actually frighten and me to the point that I have trouble sleeping. On a late night a few weeks ago I was browsing online and I stumbled across a picture that scare me and haunted me to the bone. This picture is from a movie I believe but I am unable to find an English version so I am unable to find the film. This is mainly a Japanese but I have found it under other names such as the slit mouth woman/girl and it is a rather interesting story which, like any other good , has many variations and originations. The bottom line of it is that it is a rather terrifying and with a few pictures it really adds to the spookiness of the legend.

Here is one version. There are many different versions, but this is the one I read. I will try to include pictures where I can and links to videos and any other relevant web pages.

In my belief the most common version of this legend, is said to originate hundreds of years ago in Japan in the Heian period which was a time in Japanese history that was between the years of 794 to 1185, so as you can tell this would be a very dated version of this urban legend. It is said that she was married or very involved with 1 man who was a Samurai who was very jealous and had doubts about her infidelity. The Samurai had his suspicions confirmed

and confronted Kuchisake-onna. He slashed her from ear to ear (my belief is not ear to ear but a upward slashing motion from her left to the right across her mouth) while saying “who will find you beautiful now?” She is said to roam the streets usually on foggy nights asking if you find her beautiful and at an answer of yes she would take off her mask and ask you again if she was beautiful. This time if you answered no she would take a very large pair if scissors and cut your face to resemble hers. If you were to answer yes it is said that she will follow you home and then slays you at your doorway to your residence. I have read that in Japanese the words used for “pretty” is very close Homophone for the word for “to cut” so there may be some confusion when the legend was translated. That is not where the legend ends; escape is not possible, if she finds you and asks you if she is beautiful there is no way to escape the end of getting disfigured or worse yet killed. The legend adds that she has superhuman speed so there is no way to run and she will always be in front of you no matter which way you turn, however, with an urban addition to the legend saying “your average” or “so-so” would confuse her giving you the ability to escape. That is the version of this urban legend that I first read and the one that has stuck with me these past few weeks, along with the pictures and the odd trailer which is in Japanese.

One thing that makes me wonder is how if she has a mask that people are not aware that she is someone that you want to stay away from? It’s not uncommon in Japan to see a fair majority of people wearing a surgical mask while walking around the street due to the amount of people in Japan and not wanting to catch the flu.

I also read another version where she prayed on children which when I read that I thought to myself how I could have been so frightened of this story but every time I saw a picture of her it scared me which is when I realized its not the legend it’s self but the picture.

Haunted Cabin was hacked.

Monday, May 30th, 2011

It came to my attention 2 days ago that this website along with a few others I have under this account were hacked. I am unsure at this time how they were able to change everything whether it was an exploit through word press or if my password was compromised. Right now its a moot point since my web host had a complete backup of everything and put it right back the way it was and everything seems to be just as it was, which I am very grateful for. Hosting24 is an exceptional host and did much more than I ever would have expected them to do for me. I am fortunate they had a backup as I was lazy and did not backup my websites not thinking anything like this would ever happen.

On a separate note I am going to be adding a few more posts about certain and or that has caught my eye and that I think are really and worth blogging. Stay tuned for those new posts which should all be up in the next day or two.
